This is one of the coolest apps to come out in a while. Synergy allows
you to run a client/server application between two or more machines. On
the master machine you specify where on the screen you will activate
another computer. When you mouse over to that edge of the screen your
mouse will appear on the other computers monitor and you can use your
keyboard and mouse from the first computer to control it. This software
does not allow for running headless computers but allows you to cluster a
whole bunch of monitors around you and control all the computers from one
keyboard and mouse and not have to switch to each like a KVM requires.
It is similar to remote desktop except you can use multiple monitors
connected the different machines and literally control them from the same
keyboard and mouse on all the machines. In fact you can do this with
Windows, Linux, and Mac computers since it is platform neutral. Very
cool and the best part its FREE.
